Greetings to All

Sto finendo il mio grosso lavoro del periodo (poi andrò un po' in vacanza), e voglio salutare tutti quelli che vengono a visitare il mio Blog e le mie pagine di Flickr. Ciao!

Per iniziare voglio ringraziare il gentilissimo vespista triestino che mi ha rimesso a posto la parte arancio della freccia della mia moto, che era inavvertitamente caduta a terra. Mi ha lasciato un messaggio incognito sul serbatoio, e mi ha consigliato di verificare se ha rimesso a posto la freccia in modo ottimale. Non so chi lui sia ma metto questo ringraziamento sulle mie pagine così, forse, un giorno passerà da queste parti e si riconoscerà. Grazie ancora! :)

I'm going to finish my big big work (and after that I will go for some days of holydays), and I want to greet all who visit me on the Blog and on my Flickr pages. Ciao!

For first I just want to thanx the lovely person who found on the ground my motorbike indicator light (the orange part), falled down without any damage caused by someone. He leaved me a message on my fueltank and he tells me that he found the part down and that he tried to put it on in the right way; he suggested me to check if his was well done. Also he signed the letter wint "A vespa scooter rider". I don't know who he is, but I hope that one day he will pass through my pages and he will see his own letter! Grazie! :)

Looking for Fun

Sto lavorando parecchio alla pubblicazione di un libro Generali di prossima uscita più altri lavori collegati ad esso. Questa mattina mi sono alzato alle 4.30 per preparare dei files da mandare alla fase di stampa.
Ho fatto nei giorni passati ancora ulteriori fotografie che saranno utilizzate in futuro per le loro pubblicazioni, sostanzialmente palazzi triestini. Camminando per le strade di Trieste ho scattato qualcosa a dei particolari che mi colpivano, per divertimento e per Flickr. Spero che li apprezzerete.
La prima mi ricorda una di quelle vecchie maschere Maya o Azteche utilizzate dai precolombiani durante le cerimonie.
La seconda è l'insegna di un negozio di barbiere affiorante dall'intonaco di un vecchio muro della città vecchia. Adoro queste insegne, non dovrebbero farle scomparire.
La terza è un'imprecazione della quale non serve dar spiegazione a chi capisce l'italico linguaggio! he he.. (scusate gli errori di scrittura)

I'm working hard in these days.. this morning I got up at 4.30 to prepare some files of a book who must go on the printing phase.
In the past days I did some new photographs for a client, and they will be used on the client's books, in the future, the most are buildings of my town. Walking throug the streets of Trieste I did some shots of other stuff, looking the walls just for fun, and just for Flickr. I hope you will enjoy them.
The first reminds me to a Mexican mask, that ones used by the precolumbians.
The second one is an old sign of a Barber's Shop, in the old town. The shop now could be a storeroom, but I love to see the old signs on the plaster of the old walls.
The third one is a curse. It means "Fuck off I hate you all, rough fellows". I used rough fellows to translate our slang tamarri, a kind of people who is petty, bad dressed, yobbish, noisy.. (thanx to my dictionary on line heehee, and sorry for my english!).

Ho preparato questo post prima dei giorni pasquali ma non l'ho pubblicato perché ero molto in ritardo e non potevo attendere l'upload delle foto, così voglio dare a tutti i miei più cari auguri di buona Pasqua in ritardo.

Queste sono immagini dello scorso anno prese sulle bellissime colline di Strugnan, Slovenia. Sullo sfondo la penisola di Piran. La mia Vulcan aveva un mese di vita. Altre foto qui.

I prepared this post before the Easter days but I did'nt go with the publish key because I was very late that day and the upload of the pictures was going very slowly, so I want to give all my delayed Easter greetings.

These are pictures of my VN 1600, taken on the beautiful hills of Strugnan, Slovenia, last year. On the background the peninsula of Piran. My own Vulcan was only one month old. More pictures here.

Caravaggio

Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (Milano, 29 settembre 1571 – Porto Ercole 1610) è un artista italiano del quale potete leggere una breve pagina della sua vita rocchettara in questo sito.

Il post di oggi consiste nell'associare il ritocco fotografico al quadro d'autore. E il Caravaggio è il primo dei miei esperimenti, precedentemente mi sono sempre dedicato ai manifesti dei film.
Prendi un quadro come la "Buona Ventura" (la zingara) e prendi due dei tuoi amici, un po' di photoshop e i gioco è fatto!

Today I want to show you my first digital retouch experiment done to a famous historical painting; before I dedicated my digital retouch only to movie posters.
Take a painting like the one of Caravaggio and take two of your friends, put all into your photoshop and cook it for hours with patience.. and show it to your friends!

Aikido Seminar

Un altro seminario per i miei studi di aikido. Questo weekend siamo stati a Reggio Emilia, eravamo in tre più il nostro Maestro. Al seminario c'erano dei ragazzi polacchi da Danzica, così si può dire che il seminario era europeo più che nazionale. Durante la serata tra sabato e domenica io e un mio compagno abbiamo avuto modo di intrattenere rapporti cordiali con i polacchi finché ci siamo ubriacati a forza di grappa e vodka.. abbiamo dormito 4 ore e la mattina di domenica è stata dura fare un buon allenamento con la testa che batteva come un tamburo hardcore! Un grosso ringraziamento a tutti i ragazzi del dojo di Reggio che ci hanno ospitati.

Another seminar for my aikido training. This time we went to Reggio Emilia during the weekend. At the seminar there were some guys from Gdansk (Poland), so we can say the seminar was an european seminar and not only an italian one. We were three plus our Sensei.
During the evening between saturday and sunday we had a good time with the polish guys and we got drunk with italian grappa and vodka.. We slept 4 hours so the morning of sunday I had such a problem to have my regular training, my head was like an hardcore drum! A big thank to all the guys in Reggio who hosted us in their dojo.

Mother's Birthday

Sono molto occupato con il mio lavoro e purtroppo non riesco a postare delle fotografie, ma voglio spendere cinque minuti per mettere alcune delle immagini fatte durante il compleanno di mia madre. Un pranzo stupendo fatto in un carinissimo ristorante della Slovenia, a base di antipasti di crudo, formaggio, fegato d'oca, prosciutto di cinghiale, pasta fatta a mano con asparagi selvatici, stinco di vitello al forno con patate e verdure, e fiumi di ottimo vino rosso. Ovviamente ora sono un grassone! :)

I'm very busy with my work and I so sorry to have not the time to post any picture in these days. But I want to spend some minutes for post some photographs about my mother's birthday. She did her day last week, on monday, but sunday we did a great lunch into a beautiful and lovely restaurant in Slovenia. In the pictures you see her, my father, my grandpa (the father of my dad), and my lovely lady. It was a great sunday, with plenty of good food, raw ham of pork and wildpig, cheese, pâté de foie gras, handmade pasta with asparagus, rosted veal shin vith potatoes and vegetables, and seas of red wine. Now I'm very fat! :)

The Club's Interiors

Voglio restare ancora sul palazzo rosso e sul Circolo delle Generali. Il palazzo è stato costruito dall'architetto triestino Arduino Berlam. Quest'oggi pubblico le foto degli spazi interni dell'ultimo piano.
Alcune di queste foto saranno pubblicate sul libro storico del Gruppo Generali, distribuito in tutto il mondo. Devo dire che questo mi rende orgoglioso! :)

I just want to stay on the Generali's Club on the top of the Red Building, built by the architect, and fellow-citizen, Arduino Berlam.
Today the interiors of the top flat of the building.
Some of these photographs are now taken for an historical book of the Group, and it will be distribuited all around the world. I must say I'm proud of that! :)

The Red Building

Nei giorni passati sono stato piuttosto influenzato e il mio computer è rimasto spento per la maggiorparte del tempo. Così voglio ricominciare contnuando dalle foto che ho fatto dalla terrazza del Circolo Generali. Nella prima foto si può vedere il palazzo, quello rosso, e la sua terrazza.

I was cold in the past days, so my computer was closed. So I want to restart from some of the pictures I did from the Generali Club's terrace. In the first photo you can see the red building where I was 2 weeks ago.

La scorsa settimana ero all'ultimo piano di un famoso palazzo di Trieste per fotografare la sua terrazza e un bellissimo tramonto. Il palazzo è posseduto dalle Assicurazioni Generali, la più grande società europea di assicurazioni. In ultimo piano il palazzo gestisce "Il Circolo", dove gli impiegati possono andare per bere o mangiare, o partecipare ad eventi culturali, artistici o musicali. Quel giorno ho fatto un buon lavoro fotografico, non solo al palazzo e la sua terrazza, ma anche al tramonto, al panorama della città, al cielo durante tutta la serata.

Last week I was on the top of a famous building in Trieste to photograph its terrace with a beautiful sunset. The building is owned by Generali Group Company, the biggest european reassurance company. On the top level of the building there is the Company Club, where employees can go for drink or eat lunches, or participate for cultural events, art, music. That day I did a good photographic work, not only the building and its terrace but the sunset, the panorama, and the sky also.

The Cat on the Beach!

La scorsa estate eravamo in vacanza in Croazia quando arrivò una bellissima gatta nera e bianca, che si distese tra noi sui nostri asciugamani. Questa è la prima volta che vedo un gatto così vicino al mare, che cammina sugli scoglio e che sembra veramente a suo agio con tutti, persone e turisti. La gatta vive in una casetta poco lontano, a ridosso della riva del mare. Quel giorno lei arrivò da noi per starsene distesa sui nostri asciugamani tutto il pomeriggio..

Last summer we were on holiday on a beach in Croatia when a beautiful black and white cat (another lady) arrived to stay there with us. This was the first time I saw a cat near the seaside, looking very confortable with tourists and people. She lives into a pretty house near the seashore. That day she went on our beach towels to stay all the afternoon..
