Caravaggio

Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (Milano, 29 settembre 1571 – Porto Ercole 1610) è un artista italiano del quale potete leggere una breve pagina della sua vita rocchettara in questo sito.

Il post di oggi consiste nell'associare il ritocco fotografico al quadro d'autore. E il Caravaggio è il primo dei miei esperimenti, precedentemente mi sono sempre dedicato ai manifesti dei film.
Prendi un quadro come la "Buona Ventura" (la zingara) e prendi due dei tuoi amici, un po' di photoshop e i gioco è fatto!

Today I want to show you my first digital retouch experiment done to a famous historical painting; before I dedicated my digital retouch only to movie posters.
Take a painting like the one of Caravaggio and take two of your friends, put all into your photoshop and cook it for hours with patience.. and show it to your friends!

Non tutti gli scatti riescono al meglio, alcune volte è meglio usare Photoshop per dar loro un fascino diverso.

Not all the pictures we shot are looking beautiful, sometimes we can try to use Photoshop to give them a different glitter.

Remaking a movie

Fare una copertina di un film utilizzando degli amici come attori è particolarmente divertente. Specialmente quando vedi le loro facce al momento della consegna del lavoro. Questa volta presento il remake del film "Totò, Peppino e la malafemmina" (1956).
Si parte scegliendo le foto dei propri amici che possono essere adattate alla copertina scelta e si inizia il lavoro. Non si nota nell'immagine ma l'originale ha una grana data dalla pellicola vecchia, grana che ho dovuto riprodurre sui volti dei miei due amici. Ogni fotografia va anche modificata usando curve e livelli di Photoshop, in modo da adattarla all'immagine originale.

Making a film cover with friends as actors is really funny. Expecially when you see their pretty faces at the moment of the presentation of the work.
This time I did a remake of "Toto', Peppino e la malafemmina" (1956), in english the movie has been translated into "Toto, Peppino, and the Hussy", it is a movie of two of the biggest and famous actors during the gold years of the italian's movies in the fifties, Toto and Peppino De Filippo.
As you can see I started chosing the pictures of two friends, Salvo and Giovanni, called Coolbag. The first will be Peppino and the second one will be Toto'.
Here you can't see the original noise of the picture of the moviecover, but it there was, so I reproduced it onto my friend's picture. Every picture must be modified using Photoshop's levels and curves, givin' it a natural style when it goes inserted in the original file.

Questa è la terza volta che ho in consegna, per due giorni, Momo, il cane di Carlo. Momo è particolare.. sembra una persona, più che un cane..

Con pochi tocchi di photoshop, filtri, curve, livelli e sfocatura, ecco trasformata una foto in due alternative più interessanti!
