Mase'

During the Barcolana's days there are also a lot of stands about the tipical cuisine of Trieste, influenced by the austro-hungarian period. Mase', the stand in the picture, is one of them. They are specialized in cooking various parts of pork in the traditional way.

The dish you see is made up of "hand cutted" slices of cooked ham (prepared wrapped in bread and cooked), with grated radish, a boiled pork sausage, bread, and a slice of cake called "presnitz" (containing coarsely chopped raisins, almonds, walnuts, pine nuts, candied fruit..).

Photography,
Thank you but that's not Venice, that's Trieste, 200km away to the east. You see some stands near the sea, during a fest, for the annual jacht race called Barcolana, the biggest on the Mediterranean see.. :)
