Il Fuoco

La capacità di rendere
qualcosa unico e duraturo
è una virtù che molti possiedono
ma pochi sono in grado di applicare
e mantenere viva nel tempo,

I fuochi di paglia
ardono più intensamente
ma durano il tempo
di battito d’ali

il “fuoco” vero
è quello che lentamente brucia,
costantemente,
come un punto di riferimento
sempre presente
e sempre pronto a scaldare un cuore..

E alla base di tutto
Ci devono sempre essere
persone valide, intense e attente
a mantenere quel “fuoco” vivo,

persone incapaci mollare
alla prima difficoltà,
fiere di essere sempre presenti

ed è così che il “fuoco”
lentamente arderà perpetuo
e a gli altri resterà

solo “fumo negli occhi”

The Fire

The capacity to perform
something rare and everlasting
it's a virtue that many own within
but a few are able to maintain
and to keep alive through time

The straw fires
they burn more intensely
but they last
only a blink of a wing

The true fire
it's the one that slowly burns constantly
like a point of reference
always present ready to warm a heart

And at the base of it all
there must always be
intense and careful valid people
to maintain the fire alive,

people unable to let go
at the start of difficulties
proud to be always present

this is why the fire
slowly will burn perpetually
the others will be left
With only smoke for their eyes to see...

Photo of the Day - October the 4th, 2005

Lo scorso anno, mentre attraversavo in moto la Toscana con il mio vecchio amico Glauco, iniziai a scattare delle fotografie che nominai "the riding sessions". Agli inizi di ottobre ho mandato una di queste immagini al sito DailyDigitalPhoto.com per il concorso "La Foto del Giorno".
Ora, ritornando su quel sito, scopro che sono il vincitore del 4 ottobre, ciò mi ha reso proprio felice! :)

Last year I shot some pictures while riding through Tuscany with my old friend Glauco. I defined these pictures "the riding sessions". I sent one of theese to DailyDigitalPhoto.com for the Photo of the Day Contest.
Now, after twenty days passed away, I see that I became the winner of October the 4th! That makes me very happy! :)

Ogni tanto guardo la natura, le cose, i dettagli.. sembra che la natura stia sempre lavorando con l'ultima versione di photoshop! Una versione che noi non avremo mai, in tutta la nostra vita..
Mi piace molto la terza foto, la definisco "the grand piano sequence".

Sometimes lookin' at the nature.. the things.. the details.. it seems it's always working with the latest photoshop version! A version who we'll never have, in all our life.. I just love the third picture, I call it "the grand piano sequence".

Piran

Piran è una vecchia città mediterranea situata nella parte nord dell'Istria, Slovenia. La città è un museo a cielo aperto. Le sue strette calli e la struttura delle case si rifà alla città di Venezia.

Retouching pictures

Quando si scatta una fotografia non sempre si riesce ad ottenere una bella fotografia, alle volte si commettono errori, come quelli di esposizione. Alle volte mi piace ritoccare quelle foto fatte male, mi da la possibilità di migliorarle dando loro nuove inquadrature e nuovi colori.

When you shot a picture with a wrong exposure, or with other errors, you can have the same picture retouched by Photoshop. Sometimes I like to retouch pictures I did with mistakes, this gives me the possibility to improve them and to give them new views and colors.

Non tutti gli scatti riescono al meglio, alcune volte è meglio usare Photoshop per dar loro un fascino diverso.

Not all the pictures we shot are looking beautiful, sometimes we can try to use Photoshop to give them a different glitter.

Night Riders

Remaking a movie

Fare una copertina di un film utilizzando degli amici come attori è particolarmente divertente. Specialmente quando vedi le loro facce al momento della consegna del lavoro. Questa volta presento il remake del film "Totò, Peppino e la malafemmina" (1956).
Si parte scegliendo le foto dei propri amici che possono essere adattate alla copertina scelta e si inizia il lavoro. Non si nota nell'immagine ma l'originale ha una grana data dalla pellicola vecchia, grana che ho dovuto riprodurre sui volti dei miei due amici. Ogni fotografia va anche modificata usando curve e livelli di Photoshop, in modo da adattarla all'immagine originale.

Making a film cover with friends as actors is really funny. Expecially when you see their pretty faces at the moment of the presentation of the work.
This time I did a remake of "Toto', Peppino e la malafemmina" (1956), in english the movie has been translated into "Toto, Peppino, and the Hussy", it is a movie of two of the biggest and famous actors during the gold years of the italian's movies in the fifties, Toto and Peppino De Filippo.
As you can see I started chosing the pictures of two friends, Salvo and Giovanni, called Coolbag. The first will be Peppino and the second one will be Toto'.
Here you can't see the original noise of the picture of the moviecover, but it there was, so I reproduced it onto my friend's picture. Every picture must be modified using Photoshop's levels and curves, givin' it a natural style when it goes inserted in the original file.

Gatti Tre Punto Zero

L'ultima sequenza di gatti.. Gatti alla finestra. Questi gatti sono sempre stati presi a Grisignana, in Croazia. Attraversando le sue strade, potete vedere molti gatti, ma dovete guardare anche le fineste.. Sembra che state camminando in un paese nel quale i suoi abitanti furono trasformati, in gatti, da un mago, e ora vi stanno guardando.. sperando di indontrare l'uomo che li farà ritornare di nuovo esseri umani!

Cats Three Dot Zero

The last cats sequence.. Cats on a window. These cats were taken always in the same village, Groznjan (Croatia). Walking throuh its streets, you can see a lot of cats, but you have to watch to the windows too.. It seems you are walking in a village where its inhabitants were trasformed, into cats, by a wizard, and now they are watching you.. hoping to meet the man who will make them human beings again!
