To post something after this long pause I want to speack about a horse I met in the last days of september.

Maestoso Romida: 

this is the name of this white lipizzaner stallion. I met him durin some days of holyday in the last days of September in the slovenian lands. He is a stallion "pure lipizzaner" with great pedigree; he was born in Wien, he lived in Sweden and now he is living between Lipica and Ljubljana. 

I loved to stay one day with him and with his owners. I hope to meet him as soon as possible.

Giovanni e Valeria

After months of hard work in graphic design and photography I just want to post here some of the shots I made last week to some nice guys, Giovanni and Valeria. This weekend I'm going to photograph their marriage in Todi, a small nice city in the Umbria region.

These shots were made in the beautiful Slovenian meadows near Trieste. We spent some hours going around with my car. It was a lovely day, with a beautiful sun and wind, with great and interesting clouds.

I can't wait to leave Trieste for Todi this weekend!!

Strugnan

Questa è una piccola serie fatta nella laguna di Strugnan in Slovenia, a dieci minuti da Trieste. Sullo sfondo la chiesa di Pirano.

Beer Drinker?

Si, devo dire che sono un bevitore di birra, anche se moderato. Amo bere le birre Astriache, Slovene e Croate. Quella che adoro è la Lasko slovena. Ma anche mi piacciono la Franziscaner austriaca, la Favorit e la Ozjuisko croate. La cosa che mi rende fortunato dello stare qui è che ci sono un saccoo di produttori di birra casereccia da queste parti, come l"Orient Express" di Divacia, in Slovenia, dove producono una favolosa qualità di birra, bionda e scura. C'è la possibilità di portarsi a casa bottiglie da due litri e si uò prendere la birra mista, mezza chiara e mezza scura, che è ottima comunque. Il vecchietto in foto è mio nonno. Yes, I must say that I'm a beer drinker, but moderated. I love so much to drink Austrian, Slovenians an Croatians beers. The one I love is Lask, from Slovenia. But also I love Franziscaner from Austria, Favorit and Ozujsko from Croatia. The thing who makes me lucky is that near Trieste we have a lot o breweries were taste great hand made beers, like in the "Orient Express" pub, in Divacia, Slovenia, where they produce a supreme quality of blonde and black beer. There you have the possibility to take away bottles of two litres of beer. Also you can take the mixed beer, blonde and black mixet dogether. The old gentleman on the picture is my granpa. My Vulcan 1600

Ho preparato questo post prima dei giorni pasquali ma non l'ho pubblicato perché ero molto in ritardo e non potevo attendere l'upload delle foto, così voglio dare a tutti i miei più cari auguri di buona Pasqua in ritardo.

I prepared this post before the Easter days but I did'nt go with the publish key because I was very late that day and the upload of the pictures was going very slowly, so I want to give all my delayed Easter greetings.

These are pictures of my VN 1600, taken on the beautiful hills of Strugnan, Slovenia, last year. On the background the peninsula of Piran. My own Vulcan was only one month old. More pictures here.

The White Lipizzaner Horses

Vicino a Trieste appena oltre il confine tra Italia e Slovenia ci sono le scuderie dei cavalli Lipizzani, istituite nel lontano 1580 durante l'impero austro-ungarico. Questi cavalli sono utilizzati, tra l'altro, per un bellissimo spettacolo nel quale danzano a ritmo di valtzer. Nel centro di Lipica si possono trovare alberghi, casinò, una piscina, un campo di golf, e il centro benessere, ristoranti dove gustare ottimi piatti delle nostre zone. Nel set che ho fotografato si possono vedere i cavalli che ho fotografato il 10 di gennaio, in una mattina nebbiosa. Solo camminando lungo i viali delle scuderie potete vederli pascolare, vicino a voi, sui verdi prati.

Near the city of Trieste, just out of the borderline between Italy and Slovenia there is the beautiful Lipica Stud Farm, formed in the late 1580 during the austro-hungarian empire. These horses are used for a spectacular waltz, where you can see them dancing! In the center you can find hotels, a swimmingpool, a casino, a ground for playing golf, plus places where eat the food of our zone.. In the set I photographed you see the pictures I did in the 10th day of January, during a foggy morning. You just walk along the big park and see them browsing, near of you, in the green meadows near you.

Benedictine Convent

Dopo la zona delle vigne c'è un vecchio convento benedettino in una piccola cittadina chiamata Ancarano. Nel IX secolo, un santuario dedicato ad un martire di Trieste, Santo Apollinario, fu costruito su iniziativa del vescovo di Trieste. Duecento anni dopo, nel 1072 il convento fu donato ai benedettini. Attualmente è un albergo, con un bellissimo parco sul mare.

After the zone with the grapevines there is an old Benedictine Convent, in a little city called Ankaran.
In the 9th century, a sanctuary dedicated to a martyr of Trieste, Saint Apollinarius, was built on the initiative of the bishop of Trieste. Two hundred years later (in 1072) the bishop of Trieste Adalger, donated this church with all its possessions to the Benedictine monastery of Saint Nicholas in Venice. Actually it is an hotel, with a beautiful pask on the seashore.

Grapevines

A lovely zone near the borderline between Italy and Slovenia, full of nature, peace, and grapevines. The landscape view shows the gulf of Trieste.
